Bites Nearby: Goodies

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Galloway Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

: Now open for business in Smithville, Goodies brings “NY Pushcart Style Franks” to Southern New Jersey. Hot dogs can come with chili, cheese, sauerkraut, onions in sauce and raw onions, or you can get a Jersey Devil Dog, which piles it all on. There’s also the Reuben Dog, which comes with mustard, sauerkraut and melted cheese.

They also serve pretzels, plain or salty. Mustard, honey mustard and cheddar cheese dips are all available, as is the Cinnabon pretzel with icing. Nachos come with cheddar cheese, chili or both.

After the meal, head out to the window for some ice cream. There’s a soft serve menu and a hand dip menu. Specialty sundaes are available, and the novelty menu has 16 items to choose from.

Goodies is open Monday to Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m; Thursday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
