Galloway Man Sentenced In 2018 Fatal Drug Death: Prosecutor
The man was sentenced to ten years in state prison for selling a fatal combination of fentanyl and heroin, authorities said Thursday.
GALLOWAY, NJ — A Galloway man was sentenced to ten years in state prison for his role in the 2018 drug-related death of 59-year-old Anthony Tamburelli, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced Thursday.
Brian Whitted, 56, was sentenced on the following charges: 10 years No Early Release Act (NERA) for the strict liability for the drug induced death of Tamburelli; 10 years for conspiracy to distribute and five years for the distribution of heroin fentanyl, all to run cocurrently, the Prosecutor's Office said.
In March, Whitted pleaded guilty to first-degree strict liability for drug induced death, second-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin with co-defendant Emery Chapman and second degree possession with intent to distribute heroin. Read More: Galloway Man Pleads Guilty In 2018 Drug Death

On December 17, 2018, officers of the Galloway Township Police Department found Tamburelli dead in his house after a drug overdose. A police investigation revealed that Whitted and Chapman conspired to distribute heroin and sold Tamburelli the fatal combination of heroin and fentanyl.
This is an investigation by the Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office with the assistance of the Galloway Township Police Department.
