Intoxicated Driver Hit 2 Vehicles In Galloway, Drove Off: Police

Officers found the man with a handgun and marijuana, authorities said.

GALLOWAY, NJ — A Galloway driver caused two accidents Monday afternoon while under the influence, police said. Authorities say they also found a handgun and marijuana in Keith J. Ospina's car.

Authorities were investigating two hit-and-run accidents at about 2:50 p.m. Monday around S. Wrangleboro Road and Jimmie Leeds Road. Investigation led them to search Ospina's vehicle.

Police found a .40 Cal Smith and Wesson semiautomatic handgun, which contained a large capacity magazine, authorities said. They also marijuana drug paraphernalia, police said.

Ospina, 36, was charged with driving under the influence, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a large capacity magazine, possession of a weapon by persons not to have weapons, possession of fewer than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His charges were places on a warrant, and he was placed in custody, pending court.
