Sneaker House Outlet Opens in Smithville
The new sneaker store is in the Super Foodtown shopping center.
Although the store’s grand opening isn’t until next Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, Galloway Township residents already have the opportunity to visit the area’s newest sneaker and clothing store.
Nearly one year after moved out of the Shopping Center, Sneaker House Outlet now calls that space at 45 South New York Road in the Smithville section of the township home.
Owner Jesus Amparo, 47, of Egg Harbor Township, moved his store into the township from Pleasantville, where it stood for 14 years. He also recently closed his store on Philadelphia Avenue in Egg Harbor City, making the location in Smithville the only one of Amparo’s stores currently open in the area.

Depending on the success of the current store, Amparo plans to expand again.
On Thursday morning, Dec. 29, there was already steady traffic passing through the store, including one customer who habitually shopped at Amparo’s store when it was in Pleasantville.

Amparo sells brand name clothes and sneakers, including Reebok, Nike, Fila, Puma, New Balance, Adidas, and And1 sneakers, and Hanes, Jerzees and Timberland clothing, among other items. He also sells do-rags and bandanas.
His sneakers range in price, but none are more expensive than $39.95.
When his store was in Pleasantville, it stood in one building among a number of other stores on South Main Street. He decided to move to a location that promised more security, and chose the strip mall in Smithville over locations in Burlington County.
Amparo was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to America when he was 19. He owned a market in Philadelphia for a few years before moving to New Jersey and going into the clothing business. He is married with four children, ages 10, 15, 19 and 22.
Sneaker House Outlet is open Monday, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m.; and closed on Sunday. The store can be reached by phone at 609-652-5795.
