Teen Shot Man During Fight In Galloway: Police

A man was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, and a 17-year-old has been charged.

GALLOWAY, NJ — A 17-year-old boy faces charges after shooting and hospitalizing a man in Galloway, according to police. Police responded to a fight involving several people and a report of shots fired at 8:02 p.m. Monday in front of building #6 on Federal Court.

Several witnesses told police that a vehicle left with an injured man who they believed had been shot. Shortly after, police were advised of a man at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Mainland Campus who had suffered gunshot wounds. The man was eventually transferred to the Trauma Unit of AtlantiCare's City Division.

Police arrested a 17-year-old after investigating the scene and reviewing surveillance footage. The boy was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He was jailed in the Harbor Fields Juvenile Detention Center, pending court.
