Both passengers survived, but have a long road to recovery, police said.

The other driver involved, who entered the intersection causing the Audi's driver to swerve to avoid collision, received no charges, police said.

Egg Harbor Township police thanked everyone who asked about the status of the injured, and added that they would "like to remind parents to have discussions with your teenage drivers about the impact their driving choices can have on not only themselves, but on our community as a whole."

"Please join us in wishing the victims a full recovery," police said.
