$75K Reward Offered After Shooting At Camden Officers' Home: Cops

CAMDEN, NJ — Nine organizations are offering $75,000 for information leading to the arrests of the people who shot at a home that belonged to two Camden County Police Officers who just had a baby.

The New Jersey Policemen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) is offering $20,000 for information about the identities of two people who fired six rounds at the couple's home on the 2900 block of Clinton Street just before midnight on Sept. 15, according to Camden County officials.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), the U.S. Marshals Service, Lawmen Supply Company, and an anonymous donor are each offering $10,000; the Fraternal Order of Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives are each offering $5,000; and First Colonial Bank of Collingswood and Miller Mendel, Inc. are offering $2,500. Altogether, the reward for information leading to an arrest has reached $75,000.

“On behalf of the entire Camden County Police Department, I want to express my sincerest gratitude to each of these organizations that have stepped up to aid us in this search,” Chief Joseph Wysocki said. “This was an attack on two members of our department who have not only sworn to protect the people of this city, but who have worked tirelessly to better their community each and every day. We are continuing to ask that anyone with information that may be related to this crime to contact our department.”

The shooting happened while the officers, who are married, slept on the second floor with their 10-day-old baby, according to officials. Two rounds made it through the front door into the home, and seven more shell casings were found in front of the home, authorities said.

The officers were uninjured and remain on leave. Detectives found a 1998 dark-colored Honda Odyssey with a temporary paper tag they believe was involved in the incident early Thursday and had it towed for further investigation, according to authorities.
