Attempted Child Abduction At NJ Wawa Update: Suspect Arrested
The man grabbed a child's arm and tried getting them into his vehicle by offering candy, authorities said.

MAURICE RIVER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man suspected of attempting to abduct a child from a Wawa bathroom in South Jersey has been caught, officials said Friday.
Thomas Cannon was charged Thursday with one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a third-degree offense.
State Police launched an investigation Sunday after a man allegedly tried to abduct a child at Wawa on 3904 Route 47 in Maurice River Township, Cumberland County.

The man approached a 7-year-old child and attempted to entice them into his vehicle by offering candy, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office. Authorities say the suspect grabbed the child's arm.

Cannon, 79, lives in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania — 3 miles southwest of Harrisburg. It wasn't immediately clear where Cannon was arrested.
