Man In Alleged 'Snapchat Rape' Case Has Another Accuser

A 17-year-old woman has come forward, bringing to 4 the number of sex assault accusations facing Mason Mallon in the last 2 years.

A South Jersey man who was arrested and charged with the sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman after a friend saw a suspicious Snapchat post has been charged with another sexual assault that took place in 2016, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Gibbsboro Police Chief Justin Tomaszewski announced Wednesday morning. In all, 24-year-old Mason Mallon, of Gibbsboro, is now charged with the sexual assault of four girls in the last two years.

Mallon has been charged with the sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl who came forward after police announced that he was arrested for raping a woman in his home on the 100 block of West Clementon Road in Gibbsboro on Aug. 19.

His newest accuser claims Mallon physically and sexually assaulted her in his home on March 1 of last year, according to authorities. She said she knew Mallon before the incident. She said after he gave her a drink, she was unable to move, and he assaulted her.

In this case, Mallon is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, one count of second-degree aggravated assault, one count of third-degree aggravated assault, one count of third-degree criminal restraint and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

In the incident related to the Aug. 19 arrest, a friend of the 18-year-old victim became concerned for her safety after seeing a Snapchat post from Mallon. The victim appeared to be unconscious. The friend called Gibbsboro police and asked them to go to Mallon’s home on the 100 block of West Clementon Road to check on the victim. Upon arrival, police say they found the victim in Mallon’s bedroom, “disoriented, bruised and covered in blood.” She was taken to Cooper University Hospital for treatment.

In that case, he is charged with one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, one count of second-degree sexual assault, one count second-degree aggravated assault, one count of third-degree aggravated assault, one count of third-degree criminal restraint and one count of third-degree invasion of privacy.

In his detention hearing Tuesday morning, the prosecutor said the victim needed two surgeries and may need plastic surgery, the Courier Post reports. It was also revealed that Mallon has also been charged in the sexual assault of two teenage girls that took place in Berlin last year. He was detained pending trial.

Mallon also was previously accused of possessing a weapon for an unlawful purpose in an incident in Gibbsboro in 2013, according to the Courier Post. He used a .22 caliber rifle, a shovel and a piece of wood to menace four people, and one person was injured. Mallon was paroled in 2015.
