The suspect was soon identified as 19-year-old Tyler McGuirl, of Gloucester Township.
The Gloucester Township Police Department’s Operations Response Unit found McGuirl and arrested him on an outstanding warrant out of Berlin.
At the time of his arrest, police say McGuirl was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
He was charged with third-degree possession of CDS and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending court in default of bail.
Further investigation determined that Garaguso lied about the attempted abduction. Police learned that the two had met and McGuirl fled the area in the SUV following an undisclosed disagreement.
