Local Event: Howdy Stranger's Improv Comedy Show (patch.com) — Hackensack residents can catch a fast-paced, family-friendly improv comedy show this Saturday, Sept. 12, at 8 p.m. at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center on State Street. Tickets are $25, or $15 for seniors and kids, and audience suggestions shape every scene, so no two performances are alike.

Hackensack Honors 25th Anniversary of 9/11 (tapinto.net) — Hackensack will hold its annual 9/11 memorial ceremony this Friday, Sept. 11, at 2:30 p.m. at Fire Department Headquarters on State Street. Neighbors, families, and first responders are invited to gather in remembrance and reflection on the 25th anniversary of the attacks and honor those who sacrificed their lives.

Bergen County man in critical condition after e-bike crashes into bus (northjersey.com) — A 41-year-old South Hackensack man is in critical condition at Hackensack University Medical Center after his e-bike collided with a New Jersey Transit bus on Huyler Street. Police say he lacked a helmet, license, and registration, and the bus carried no passengers. Hackensack officers helped manage the scene as investigators continue probing the cause.

Palisades Medical Center appoints Dr. Calvin Hwang as new chief medical officer (binje.com) — Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center has named Dr. Calvin Hwang its new chief medical officer, bringing experience from New York-Presbyterian and Columbia University to the Hudson County community. His arrival coincides with a $50 million emergency department expansion, signaling continued investment in care that many Hackensack-area residents rely on within the Meridian network.
