Bill Spearman Honored For Service To Camden County College
Bill Spearman is leaving the Board of Trustees to represent the Fifth Legislative District in the Assembly.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Outgoing Camden County College Board of Trustee Member William Spearman was recently honored with a plaque honoring his three years of service. Spearman is leaving the board of trustees to represent residents of the Fifth Legislative District in the Assembly alongside Assemblywoman Patricia Egan-Jones and Senator Nilsa Cruz-Perez.
Spearman, a Democrat and former Camden Councilman, replaces Arthur Barclay. Barclay resigned suddenly after news reports surfaced that he was being charged with simple assault for punching a woman in the face. Charges against Barclay have since been dismissed.
“Bill was an extremely student-centered Board member with a special place in his heart for the students from Camden City,” Camden County College President Don Borden said. “His calm demeanor and ethical considerations made him an extremely valuable Board member who will no doubt bring those same attributes to his work as an assemblyman. As much as we will miss him as a Trustee, we all take comfort in the fact that in his current role, he will be able to help an even greater number of individuals.”
