Family & Co. Jewelers celebrate 50th year in Marlton on Sept. 3

A fifth-generation business, Family & Co. Jewelers will host its 50th Anniversary event on Friday, Sept. 3 starting at 3 p.m. Marlton Mayor Jaclyn Veasy will commemorate this event with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at 5:15 p.m. The shop’s owner Angelo P. Breaux, Sr., said that his children (fourth generation) and grandchildren (fifth generation) will him to commemorate his family’s milestone.

“My father had the foresight to see that Marlton was poised to grow when he opened this location 50 years ago,” said Breaux. “My dad launched our Marlton store on Sept. 3, 1971, because it was a special day – my mom’s birthday. My dad joined the family jewelry business in the 1960s after serving as a Marine for 26 years.”

Breaux’s grandfather, Angelo Calapristi, founded the jewelry business in South Philly in 1937, where it operated until the move to South Jersey. For decades the family has specialized in creating custom pieces – “if you can dream it, we can make it” – as well as exquisite traditional jewelry.

Breaux is an active participant in South Jersey’s business and charitable community, and the family has a long tradition of giving back. The Breaux family regularly provides gift baskets and jewelry that assist in fundraising for nonprofits.

The store hosts events and raises money for Operation Yellow Ribbon, the Evesham Educational Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Breaux was twice honored by the LLS for his commitment to fight blood cancer. In 2007 Breaux was named “Man of the Year” and in 2015, Breaux was honored with the “VIP Award.”

The entire Breaux family invites the public to celebrate this momentous achievement at the store on Friday afternoon, Sept. 3, 2021. There will be catering, photo opportunities and special sale items, so you can have fun while saving money!

Third generation jeweler Angelo Breaux, Sr., with his fourth-generation children, Crystal, Jessica & Angelo, Jr., and fifth-generation granddaughter, Skylar, all work at the store.
