Haddonfield School District To Hire New Superintendent

The Board of Education voted not to renew the contract of Richard Perry, according to published reports.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — The Haddonfield Public School District will have a new superintendent next year. The Board of Education voted not to renew the contract of current Superintendent Richard Perry during a special meeting Thursday night, according to published reports.

Perry’s four-year contract expires on June 30, 2018, and the board is legally required to give him 120 days notice if it intends not to renew his contract, according to the Haddonfield Sun. The reasons for the dismissal are not required to be made public, but the vote is, hence Thursday night’s meeting.

In letting Perry go, the Haddonfield School District may be looking to save money, according to njpen.com. Perry’s salary is currently capped at $175,000, but new statewide salary caps and incentives mean Perry could make as much as $191,584.
