HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Haddon Township Commissioner Jim Mulroy has successfully navigated his first major challenge in office. This week, he defeated Ryan Linhart, 680-473, to hold on to his seat on the Board of Commissioners in Haddon Township's non-partisan elections, according to the unofficial vote tally. This doesn’t include mail-in or provisional ballots.

Mulroy told njpen.com his first goal is to new contract with the township’s police department, followed by a focus on pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements along Haddon Avenue.

Mulroy was sworn in as Haddon Township’s newest commissioner on Monday, Feb. 28. He assumed the seat from John Foley, who resigned a week earlier to spend more time with family.

It wasn’t long before he was faced with his first challenge. Ryan Linhart filed a petition to challenge Mulroy for his new seat in early March.

Mulroy told the website he was happy that both sides ran a clean campaign. Linart called the campaign a “valuable personal experience.”
