ChildrenSong of New Jersey, a community children's choir based in Haddonfield was awarded second place in the WHYY Lifting Voices in Praise competition last week. The choir passed through three rounds of the competition and performed in the finale last weekend. Director Polly Murray, who also teaches music in the Haddonfield School District said, "The kids were excited and learned so much about performing gospel and spiritual music to prepare for each round in the competition. It was overall a great experience." The choir won a $250 cash prize as runner-up. The competition was open to choirs and soloists from South Jersey, southeastern Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
