NJ American Water To Pause Service Shutoffs Amid Coronavirus
The water company will also restore service to customers who have already had their service turned off.
New Jersey American Water won’t be shutting off service as new coronavirus impacts the state. It will also begin restoring services to customers who have already had their service shut off.
Additionally, the water company will suspend all non-essential in-home field appointments, New Jersey American said in a statement Friday afternoon. It will also be limiting the amount and nature of contact with customers during all emergency in home field appointments.
Finally, the company confirmed that its water meets all current federal and state drinking water requirements.

“American Water continues to monitor situational updates provided by the Center for Disease Control, World Health Organization and Johns Hopkins University as well as other federal and state organizations,” the water company said. “We are continuously evaluating the situation including the latest developments to determine how we may adopt and amend measures, as necessary, to support our customers and communities we serve and our employees.”
