ONE NIGHT ONLY: Philly Rockers Creem Circus Hosts Video Release Party

Some of the greatest groups have been immortalized in technicolor animation – The Beatles, Jackson Five, Josie and the Pussycats, and now Philly’s own Creem Circus.

The new animated video for their original song, “Those Shoes,” channels T-Rex, Slade, and Saturday morning cartoons during three minutes of rock ‘n’ roll bliss. Added to the cartoon fun are glimpses of the real Creem Circus band members suited up in their vintage glitter and faux fur attire. Campy costumes and stage antics aside, this power trio’s musical talent blasts through the video screen.

Join guitarist-singer Chris DiPinto, drummer Rockbottom Rob Giglio, and bassist Dave Janney for the world premiere of this new animated video on June 3rd at Ortlieb’s in Philadelphia. This debut video from Half/Fast Productions, which mixes animation by A.A. Glenn and live footage by renowned photographer Dom Episcopo, will kick off a high-energy set from this 21st Century glam rock band that has been described by Suitsandtheplatformboots.com as “The fantastically glamorous world of Creem Circus. A world full of color, glam, guitars and great rock ‘n’ roll music, what else do you need?”

The June 3rd Ortlieb’s event will include songs from Creem Circus’ most recent album, “The Glitterest Sladest, Rockinest Laidest, Overtime Paidest, Boogiest Band in Town,'' described as “70s excess … Mixing T-Rex with the New York Dolls,” said RockAndRollExperience.com. Creem Circus will also debut songs from their new album, due out later this year. From their vintage platform shoes and their well-tailored suits to their wild audience participation antics, this show is not to be missed.

Music fans may recognize Collingswood-resident Chris DiPinto as the master luthier behind DiPinto Guitars at 407 E. Girard Avenue in Fishtown. DiPinto Guitars are known for their colorful, unique looks and superb sound. He has made guitars for David Bowie, Adam Sandler, Jack White, Dick Dale, Cheap Trick, The Cars, and many more.

The video release show begins at 7 p.m. on June 3 at Ortlieb’s, 847 N. Third St., Philadelphia, PA 19123. Tickets are $10, and guests must be 21 years or older to attend.
