HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — An "outdated" Haddon Township intersection frequently used by drivers and pedestrians has a new look, Camden County Commissioner Al Dyer told Patch.

The junction of South Park Drive and Cuthbert Boulevard now has a traffic signal with pedestrian pushbuttons, pedestrian signals and handicap accessibility at all four points of the intersection, he said.

The intersection is within Cooper River Park, "one of Camden County's most active parks," according to Dyer. "It was important to have this signal operational prior to the start of major park events in 2022," he added.

In any given year, thousands of people make the loop around Cooper River Park to raise awareness of breast cancer, suicide, issues facing the LGBTQ community, multiple sclerosis and other causes. There are also many people who make the loop around the park part of their exercise routine.
