Residents Evacuated In 2-Alarm Townhome Fire In Hillsborough

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A two-alarm fire that broke out at a Hillsborough townhome prompted an evacuation of residents nearby on Friday morning.

On June 21 at 9:10 a.m., the Hillsborough Township Police Department went to 603 Marlborough Common for a report of heavy smoke.

Police and firefighters found a fire and smoke condition in the attached townhouse unit, said Hillsborough Police Sgt. Philip Wolff.

Hillsborough Township Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire expeditiously.

No one was inside the unit at the time of the fire and police evacuated all residents in the attached units, said Wolff.

There were no injuries sustained during the fire.

The fire is not considered suspicious at this time but remains under investigation by detectives from the Hillsborough Township Police Department and the Hillsborough Township Bureau of Fire Safety.
