2 Candidates To Run For Hillsborough Township Committee Seat

John Ciccarelli filed as a Republican and Ronald Yoder filed as a Democrat for the township's only open seat.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Monday was the deadline to file for the upcoming primary election in June. Two candidates have announced their intention to run for the one open Hillsborough Township Committee seat.

John Ciccarelli filed as a Republican and Ronald Yoder filed as a Democrat for the township's only open seat. They are both newcomers and unopposed in the primary.

Incumbent Republican Frank DelCore is not seeking re-election. DelCore had served five consecutive three-year terms on the Township Committee and has served as Hillsborough Mayor five times during his tenure. Read More: Frank DelCore Will Not Seek Re-Election In Hillsborough

Ciccarelli previously served as President of the Hillsborough Soccer Club. He is "an experienced consulting executive focusing on expert advisory services in the areas of construction project management, risk, and dispute resolution for clients in a broad spectrum of industries and am currently helping grow the Construction Advisory practice at J. S. Held," according to his LinkedIn profile.

Yonder previously served as Hillsborough Democratic Committee Chairman and was endorsed by Committee to represent their party.

New Jersey's primary election will be held on June 8 and the general election on Nov. 2. The one winning candidate will serve a 3-year term on the township committee.
