2 Hillsborough Officers Promoted To Sergeant And Lieutenant

Sgt. Jack Howard was promoted to Lieutenant and Corporal Christopher Girardi was promoted to Sergeant.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Two Hillsborough Officers were promoted at Tuesday's Township Committee when Mayor Robert Britting issued the oath of office.

Sgt. Jack Howard was promoted to Lieutenant effective Jan. 23 with an annual salary of $175,177.

Corporal Christopher Girardi was promoted to Sergeant effective Jan. 23, at an annual salary of $145,372.

The promotions were done to fill vacancies in the positions of Lieutenant and Sergeant.

"I just want to thank the Mayor and the Township Committee for supporting and approving these promotions which are much needed in the police department," said Hillsborough Police Chief Mike McMahon. "It's really difficult because we have great talent in the police department but you can only pick two guys to be promoted this time. They are both excellent officers, they are both going to make a positive impact on the police department and within the township and congratulations guys."
