3 Men Arrested For Burglarizing Montgomery Home With Residents Inside: Prosecutor
The resident called 911 after hearing suspicious noises and seeing broken glass from the basement window, said police.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — Three men from Trenton were arrested in connection with a home burglary with residents inside in Montgomery.
Devoris Daniels, 20, of Trenton, Mekai Wright, 24, of Trenton, and Lloyd Beard-Julius, 30, of Trenton, were all charged in connection with the burglary on Dec. 16, 2025, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
On Dec. 16, 2025, just before 11 p.m., a resident of a home on Remy Court in Montgomery Township called 911 and reported hearing suspicious noises. They also reported seeing broken glass from a basement window.

Montgomery Township Officers went to the home and found a man, later identified as Daniels, in the driveway.
Officers asked Daniels to stop; however, he refused and ran away into the backyard, said McDonald.

Daniels reportedly climbed back into the basement through a broken window, where police found him hiding in a closet.
A Somerset County Sheriff’s Officer with a canine also came to help track additional suspects, along with Bernards Township Police, who used a drone.
The next morning, on Dec. 17, 2025, detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Burglary Task Force and the Montgomery Township Police Department investigated and found that there were two more suspects involved.
The investigation also found that a 2022 Nissan Altima was used during the home burglary.
Detectives found the Altima in Trenton. While conducting surveillance, detectives saw Wright get into the car, said McDonald.
When detectives tried to stop the car, Wright got out and immediately ran away. However, police were able to chase Wright down and arrest him, said McDonald.
Beard-Julius was later identified as the third and final suspect of the burglary. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Jan. 28, 2026, Beard-Julius was arrested by the Mount Laurel Police Department in Burlington County on unrelated charges and served with the Somerset County Warrant.
Daniels was charged with second-degree burglary of an occupied structure and fourth-degree resisting arrest/eluding.
Wright was charged with second-degree burglary of an occupied structure, criminal mischief, and obstruction, both disorderly persons offenses.
Beard-Julius was charged with second-degree burglary of an occupied structure, and criminal mischief, a disorderly person’s offense.
Daniels and Wright were remanded to the Somerset County Jail pending a Superior Court detention hearing in this matter. Beard-Julius was remanded to the Burlington County Jail, awaiting court proceedings in Somerset County.
McDonald commended "the Montgomery Township Police Department, the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Burglary Task Force for working together and sharing critical information in a timely fashion, which led to the identification and apprehension of these suspects."
