3 More Shootings Reported Over Memorial Day Weekend In Somerset
Breaking: Three more shootings were reported this past weekend in Somerset, making a total of six in the past two months.

SOMERSET, NJ — Authorities are investigating three more shootings that occurred over this past Memorial Day weekend in the Somerset section of Franklin Township. These shootings make six in the past two months.
First Shooting:
On Saturday, May 27 at around 8:58 p.m. a 9-1- 1 call reported gunshots being fired at a Minetta Road home. The resident said he heard about five gunshots and a bullet hole was found inside the home in a bedroom wall, police reported.

No injuries were reported and no suspects have been identified.
Second Shooting:

The next day on Sunday, May 28 at around 3:03 a.m., a 9-1-1 call reported gunshots being fired in the area of Victor Street with a victim.
Police found a 33-year-old man inside a Victor Street home suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his right shoulder. The victim was transported to a local trauma center for emergency treatment.
An investigation revealed that the victim was in his second-floor bedroom when a stray bullet came through the window and struck him in the shoulder. Several 9mm shell casings were also found outside the home, police reported.
A search of the next door home found a .22-caliber assault handgun with a magazine capable of holding 50 rounds of ammunition, police reported.
David Anderson, 28, of Somerset and was in the home, was arrested and charged with second-degree possession of an assault weapon, second degree possession of weapon by certain person and fourth degree possession of a high capacity magazine.
Anderson was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Third Shooting:
Later that night at around 6:50 p.m., a 9-1- 1 call reported that three men were seen shooting a handgun across Route 27 towards New Brunswick from the area of Millstone Road and Somerset Street.
Witnesses confirmed hearing gunshots being fired and said they saw three black men running north on Fuller Street. No injuries were reported.
These holiday weekend shootings make a total of six shootings in the past two months in the Somerset section of Franklin Township.
A shooting had been reported on April 19 at around 3:35 p.m. in the area of Fuller Street in the Somerset section of Franklin Township. Responding officers found a 29-year-old New Brunswick man outside a Fuller Street home suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his lower extremity.

Another shooting was reported on April 28 around 11:48 p.m. where an 18-year-old woman was found suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her lower extremity in the area of Baier Avenue in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, police reported.

And another shooting at around 8:56 p.m. on May 1 in the area of Mark and Parkside Streets. Responding Franklin Township officers found a 21-year-old man in the area of Millstone Road and Route 27, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his right forearm.
