All-Female College OKs Male Enrollment for Fall 2016
College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown changes policy after 116 years.

The College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown has been delivering a post-secondary education to women only since 1899.
In the fall of 2016, a new chapter in the school’s history will be written.
At a June 12 meeting of the Board of Trustees, it was decided that beginning in the fall of 2016, the school would become completely co-education, allowing for male students to enroll in classes.

The decision was based on “intensive analysis,” the school said in a press release
Leading up to the 2016 start date, the college is undergoing a review of residence hall space to accommodate male students, as well as sports programs which, according to the school, will be offered to men within three years to meet NCAA guidelines.

The school has three sections: daytime programs; continuing studies; and graduate. Continuing studies courses, which are offered at night, on weekends, and online, have been coed since 1976. Graduate programs have also been coed since its inception in 1993.
