HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — "Damaging or stealing political signs is illegal," the Hillsborough Township Police Department reminded residents on Monday.

"The property owners are the only ones that can remove signs from their property. Political signs posted on public property can only be removed by the state or local personnel who maintain that property," said police in a release.
