Dog Falls Into Icy Pond, Rescued By Montgomery Police
Officer Salvatore Intili wore a personal flotation device with a safety rope held by Sgt. John Colucci and walked out onto the frozen ice.
MONTGOMERY, NJ — A dog was rescued after falling into an icy pond on Tuesday in Montgomery Township.
On Jan. 21 at 10:33 a.m., Montgomery Police, Montgomery Fire Company No. 2, and Montgomery EMS went to a pond behind Avalon Lakes Court for an animal rescue after a dog fell into the pond.
The dog's owner told officers that the dog had somehow gotten out of the backyard.

"Officer Salvatore Intili donned a personal flotation device with a safety rope held by Sergeant John Colucci and walked out onto the frozen ice, where he was able to grab the dog’s harness and pull the dog from the water," said police.
With the help of other officers, the dog was taken to a local animal hospital for evaluation and is expected to fully recover.
