Fire Sparks From Living Room Outlet In Montgomery

Another fire was also reported on Monday, involving a business in the Township.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — Two fires were reported in the Township in the past week.

On Nov. 26 at around 5:06 p.m., Montgomery Police, Montgomery Fire Companies 1 and 2, Montgomery EMS, and Rocky Hill Fire Company went to a Johnson Drive home for a fire.

All occupants of the home had safely evacuated and were uninjured.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, which initially appeared to have originated from an outlet in the living room, said Montgomery Police.

Although the house did sustain damage, Montgomery Township Fire Inspectors determined the house was still safe to occupy.

On Dec. 2, Montgomery Police, Montgomery Fire Company 2, Montgomery EMS and Rocky Hill Fire Company went to Village Shopper shopping center for a fire behind a business.

A Princeton Fire Official used an extinguisher to suppress the fire.

The fire originated in a bin behind a business after an employee placed towels in a pile behind the business.

There was damage to the bin adjacent to the towels and the siding of the building, however the businesses were able to remain open.
