House Fire Displaces Residents In Somerset County
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation by the Franklin Township Office of Fire Prevention.
FRANKLIN, NJ — A family is displaced after a fire sparked in their attic in Franklin on Thursday.
On Feb. 29, at 11:44 a.m., the Franklin Township Police Department went to a home on Ambrose Street after receiving a call reporting a structure fire.
Officers saw fire and smoke emitting from the roof of the single-family residence, said Franklin Township Police Lt. Vincent T. Wilson.

Firefighters began extinguishment of the fire in the attic with other departments helping to contain the fire containment on the back of the house from the rear and side yard, according to East Franklin Fire Department.
The fire was under control in 45 minutes and units cleared the scene at 2:10 p.m., said the fire department.

Firefighters from the Franklin Township Office of Fire Prevention, East Franklin FD, Community FD, South Fire New Brunswick FD, North Brunswick Co.3 FD, Bound Brook FD, Finderne FD, Elizabeth Ave. FD, Millstone Valley FD, and River Road FD were involved in the response.
EMS personnel from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital also responded.
No residents were reportedly injured. The American Red Cross responded and provided temporary relief, including shelter, to all those affected.
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation by the Franklin Township Office of Fire Prevention. An initial investigation indicates the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
