Manville Man Smashed Beer Bottle On Bar Employee's Head On Super Bowl Sunday: Jury
The attack reportedly happened after Junior Suriel-Gonzalez, 38, of Manville, was asked to leave the bar, said authorities.

MANVILLE, NJ — A Manville man was convicted for smashing a beer bottle over a employee's head after being asked to leave the bar on Super Bowl Sunday.
On Monday following a week-long trial, a Somerset County Jury convicted Junior Suriel-Gonzalez, 38, of Manville, of third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and disorderly persons simple assault.
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 10, 2025, when Suriel-Gonzalez faces up to five years in New Jersey State Prison.

On Feb. 11, Super Bowl Sunday, Suriel-Gonzalez was at a bar in Manville.
When Suriel-Gonzalez was asked to leave the bar, he armed himself with a beer bottle and attacked an employee with the bottle, swinging it over the top of the employee’s head, said authorities.

Suriel-Gonzalez was subdued and removed from the bar, after which he fled in his vehicle.
Suriel-Gonzalez was ultimately arrested by Manville Police Officers several blocks away, during the early hours of Feb. 12.
