Residents Escape Hillsborough House Fire With Injuries
Hillsborough Township Police arrived at the home to find heavy smoke coming from inside the residence on Thursday.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Township residents were able to escape a fire in their home with minor injuries early Thursday morning, said Hillsborough Police.
On Sept. 5 at around 12:46 a.m., the Hillsborough Township Police Department went to 112 Robin Road Unit 217 for an unknown type of fire inside the residence.
Hillsborough Township Police Units saw heavy smoke coming from inside the residence, said Hillsborough Police Corporal Michael A. Laboy.

Firefighters extinguished the fire, which was discovered to be a small portable kitchen appliance. The fire was contained only in the kitchen of the residence, said Laboy.
The residents were evacuated at the time of the fire and sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention, said Laboy.

The fire is not considered suspicious but remains under investigation by the Hillsborough Township Police Department and the Hillsborough Township Bureau of Fire Safety.
