Reward Offered In Recent Somerset Shootings

Crime Stoppers of Somerset County is offering rewards of up to $500 for information in connection with the 3 shootings in Somerset recently.

SOMERSET, NJ — Crime Stoppers of Somerset County Inc. is offering rewards of up to $500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the three recent non-fatal shootings that have occurred in the Somerset section of Franklin Township in the past two weeks.

The shootings occurred between April 19 and May 1.

The first shooting was reported on April 19 at around 3:35 p.m. in the area of Fuller Street in the Somerset section of Franklin Township. Responding officers found a 29-year-old New Brunswick man outside a Fuller Street home, suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his lower extremity.

A second shooting was reported on April 28 around 11:48 p.m. where an 18-year-old woman was found suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to her lower extremity in the area of Baier Avenue in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, police reported.

A third shooting was reported at around 8:56 p.m. on May 1 in the area of Mark and Parkside Streets. Responding Franklin Township officers found a 21-year-old man in the area of Millstone Road and Route 27, suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his right forearm, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson reported.

The victim was treated at the scene and then was transported to a local trauma center for emergency treatment. The victim is not cooperating with law enforcement authorities, Robertson said.
