Second Phase Of Amsterdam Drive Repaving Project Delayed

The second phase includes Amsterdam Drive between Vliet Drive and Murphy Drive in Hillsborough.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The second phase of the repavement of Amsterdam Drive is postponed until Spring 2023 due to weather conditions, said Committeewoman Janine Erickson.

During the Oct. 25 Township Committee meeting, Erickson said that the repaving project, which is partially funded by an NJ State Department of Transportation grant, could not be awarded until the engineering plans and specifications were approved by NJDOT.

"The approval took longer than it has in previous years," said Erickson.

As a result, the second phase will be delayed.

"The township was hoping to repave it this year but the NJDOT has strict repaving standards for the temperature of paving and the township needs to delay this project," said Erickson.
