On Thursday night, Hoboken issued a message about Friday's activities, saying the air quality had improved enough to continue recreational activities.

However, children, older adults, and those with certain conditions should limit time outside and take precautions.

Air quality conditions in Hoboken continue to improve, and the air quality level is now in the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" category. Those considered sensitive, including those with heart or lung disease, older adults, and young children should continue to limit time outside and postpone strenuous activities until air quality improves.

The NJ DEP's air quality alert remains in effect until tomorrow, Friday, June 9, at 11:59 p.m.

The city's outdoor recreational activities will occur as scheduled tomorrow.
