TV Series 'Shelter' Filmed In Hoboken This Week, Based On Harlan Coben Books
The Amazon TV series, based on a Harlan Coben thriller book series for young adults, has been filming in Hoboken this week.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Rumors swirled this week as TV cameras set up in uptown Hoboken. Could they be filming more of the Uma Thurman movie "The Kill Room," which had filmed in the same neighborhood in May? Or perhaps the crew was filming "Inappropriate Behavior" with Robert DeNiro, recently seen in Jersey City?
Actually, said a crew member on Thursday, the production was "Shelter," a new Amazon TV series based on the books by Harlan Coben.
Coben's young-adult thriller series follows the adventures of Mickey, a boy who starts at a new school in New Jersey after his single mom enters rehab. He gets help from a classmate and a mysterious old lady.

The crew was set up around Anthony David's restaurant at Tenth and Bloomfield streets on Thursday, a block from the main drag of Washington Street. (The new signs in the window saying "For Lease" are just for the film; the restaurant is going strong.)
The state's film commission says that the show will be filming in New Jersey through November, but only lists Kearny, another Hudson County town, as a location.
