Attempted Murder Charge For Hoboken Man In Father's Day Shooting: Police
A Hoboken resident, 32, was charged with attempted murder for a shooting on the west side of the city on Sunday.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A 23-year-old Hoboken man was charged with attempted murder on Tuesday following a shooting on the west side of town on Father's Day, police said.
Keshon Crandell has. been charged with criminal attempted murder, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapon, and causing or risking widespread injury.
On Sunday, June 18, 2023, at approximately 2:15 p.m., the Hoboken police responded to the 500 block of Jackson St. on a report of shots fired. No one was injured.

After a two-day investigation led by Detectives Tyler Soto, Michael Losurdo, and Fabian Quinones,
Crandell was identified as the suspect, police say, and a warrant was issued.
Tuesday, he turned himself in at headquarters around 12:20 p.m.

He was also processed on an aggravated assault summons for his involvement in a street
fight in Hoboken on May 7, 2023, police say.
He was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
“The Hoboken Police Department considers the safety of our residents its top priority,” said
Public Safety Director (and former Police Chief) Kenneth Ferrante, “and we do not tolerate any type of violence in our city."

arrest reaffirms the Hoboken Police Department’s dedication to all the residents of Hoboken.”
Gun Violence in Hoboken
Hoboken has a low murder rate, generally vacillating between 1 and 0 each year. However, there have been several shootings in the last three years between Fourth and Sixth streets on the west side of the town, including the fatal shooting of Christopher Garcia last September at 560 Marshall Drive.
Last June, a Hoboken man, 19, was charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a Hoboken teen near Fourth and Adams streets, near an ongoing flag football game.
