Father Of 3 Was Killed By Car Heading Between Hoboken And Jersey City Jobs; GoFundMe Set
A father of 3 was heading between his restaurant jobs in Hoboken and Jersey City when he was struck and killed by a car on Saturday.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A GoFundMe has set up for a father of three children in Jersey City who was struck and killed by a car when heading from a restaurant job to another on Saturday.
"He worked full time at Tosti [on Washington Street in Hoboken] and part time at Skinners Loft," said Gina Pinto, a family friend who set up the fundraiser. "He was a hardworking man and unfortunately this is a huge loss for his wife and three boys. Any help we can get for them would be life-changing."
Guillermo Acevedo was hit on Saturday around 4 p.m. by a 2018 Hyundai Elantra near the intersection of 16th Street and Marin Boulevard, officials had said.

A note on the GoFundMe says:
Hello, I'm Teresa, and I find myself in an unimaginable situation that no one should ever have to face. On November 4, 2023, my beloved husband, Guillermo Acevedo, was tragically killed in a pedestrian accident in Jersey City, NJ. Guillermo had been a dedicated cook in Downtown Jersey City for over 20 years, and he worked tirelessly to provide for our family.
Guillermo was not just a devoted husband but also a kind, humble, honest, and hardworking man who always put his family first. He was a loving father to our three boys, aged 16, 14, and 8, and his loss leaves a gaping hole in our lives.
The accident occurred as he was on his way from one job to another, trying to make ends meet for our family. Anyone who knew Guillermo knows that he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. I have created this GoFundMe campaign to ask for your support during this incredibly challenging time. The funds we raise will be used to cover funeral expenses, provide housing for our family, ensure we have food on our table, and support the continued upbringing of our children.
I work full-time as a housekeeper, but I am without insurance or savings to help us navigate this difficult period. Your generosity will make a profound difference in our lives, helping us cope with the loss of Guillermo and ensuring that our children have the support they need to move forward. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity during this heart-wrenching time. Your support means the world to us.
