General Electric Light Show Brings Bright Things To Hudson County, NJ: PHOTOS
General Electric will launch several companies Tuesday, so they launched 1,000 drones on the NJ/NYC waterfront Monday.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — General Electric celebrated the upcoming launch of three companies by launching 1,000 drones from the Hudson County waterfront Monday night.
Starting April 2, the company will consist of, besides the main company, GE Aerospace, GE Vernova, and GE HealthCare.
"On the evening of April 1st, GE will celebrate a new era in its storied history with a storytelling spectacle of 1,000 drones," they noted in a release in advance. "As one of the longest-standing companies on the NYSE, GE will officially complete its transformation into three independent public companies with the separation of GE Aerospace and GE Vernova on April 2nd."

General Electric was founded by Thomas Edison, whose laboratory was in New Jersey, in 1889.
In their announcement, GE said, "Alongside GE HealthCare, these three independent entities will represent a new frontier of innovation, each pioneering advancements in their respective fields."

The drones launched from the Weehawken Waterfront Park, 1.5 miles north off Hoboken. The show started around 9:15 and lasted around 15 minutes.
