HOBOKEN, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and wind advisory for Hudson, Essex, Union, Passaic, and Bergen counties starting at 3 p.m. Saturday and running through 4 a.m. Sunday morning.

"Southwest winds 15 to 25 m.p.h. with gusts up to 50 m.p.h. expected," noted the advisory. "Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."

The NWS noted, "Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects."

"In addition," said the hazardous weather outlook, "heavier showers and thunderstorms this evening could produce damaging wind gusts to near 60 m.p.h."

But there's good news — the NWS predicts sunny skies by morning, just in time for "Christmas Comet-gazing" and for the Frank Sinatra statue unveiling later on the Hoboken waterfront.

"Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 47," says Sunday's forecast. "West wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph."
