UPDATE Hoboken Water Main Repairs Were Completed Monday Morning
Suez water said the water main repair was finished Monday around 10 a.m. after a break early Saturday at the northern entrance to Hoboken.
HOBOKEN — UPDATED: Shortly after 10 a.m., Suez water Tweeted that repairs had been finished after a 30-inch water main broke near the city's northern entrance Saturday morning.
The break was first reported at 8:01 a.m. on Saturday at Fourteenth Street and Willow Avenue, in front of several chain stores, including Trader Joe's. The grocery store remained open but had to be accessed through a back ramp.
Suez Tweeted around 9 p.m. Saturday that work was continuing and was expected to finish later at night. They said that crews were delivering bottled water to two buildings at Twelfth and Willow that were without water.

Then, on Sunday at 3 p.m., Suez followed up with a Tweet:
UPDATE 2/16/20-3PM: Repairs are ongoing on a 30” main at 14th & Willow in #Hoboken. Due to the size and complexity of the main repairs will continue into Monday. Customers on the 1400 block of Willow may experience service interruptions until the evening and have been notified.

Drivers were advised to avoid the normally busy area, which was less crowded than usual, likely due to some residents being away for the holiday weekend.

Hoboken has suffered many breaks to its century-old water pipes. A project to repair 15 blocks of aging water mains began this past fall.
