Moonlit Night In Hoboken For Geri Fallo's Last Spaghetti Block Party (PHOTOS)
Hundreds of hungry Hobokenites turned out for the traditional Spaghetti Block Party Dinner on the city's waterfront.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Hundreds of hungry Hobokenites flocked to the city's waterfront on a moonlit Thursday night to participate in the traditional Spaghetti Block Party Dinner. And it was extra-special, as Mayor Ravi Bhalla announced it would be the last one organized by Geri Fallo in her role as cultural affairs director, as she will retire this year.
Fallo has brought an artsy touch to the mile-square city since the early 1990s, when city officials expressed their desire to increase recognition for Hoboken as an arts-centric town.
Fallo had a knack for scheduling events on days when the weather was perfect, Bhalla noted. And it was. See photos below.

The Spaghetti Block Party Dinner started in 2005 as a celebration of Hoboken's 150th Anniversary.
The city has explained, "The idea was to recreate a community event that took place in 1955 for the City’s 100th Anniversary – a Spaghetti Dinner Block Party on Washington Sreet. It has been so popular that we continue this tradition with a similar event that takes place along the Hoboken waterfront, overlooking the Manhattan Skyline."

The event takes place at the south waterfront, with four kinds of pasta offered, as well as salads, sausage, bread, and pastries for dessert.
This year, the icing on the cake was...the icing on the cake.
