The state of New Jersey says that people who completed their Johnson & Johnson vaccinations more than 2 months ago — or second Pfizer or Moderna shot five or more months ago — are eligible for a booster, as effectiveness of the vaccine can wane over time.
"COVID-19 vaccines are working well to prevent severe illness, hospitalization, and death," the state said, "However, studies show that vaccination may become less effective over time." Find out more about booster eligibility, types of vaccine for the booster, and vaccines for kids here.
