Shake Shack Truck In Hoboken This Weekend But Store On Hold

HOBOKEN, NJ — The popular Shack Shack burger and fries joint has sent a food truck through Hoboken and Jersey City this weekend to deliver to hungry customers. Residents can order for delivery via this link, a spokeswoman said.

"Starting today through Sunday, May 31st the Shack Truck will be making its way across the Hudson to serve delivery only," she said on Friday. "Shake Shack fans just have to head to Uber Eats to order and they will deliver everything off safe and sealed."

Shake Shack also started construction last year on a restaurant on lower Washington Street, but all construction on new stores has been paused, so there is no word right now on an opening date, the spokeswoman said. "We announced earlier this year that new design and construction of future Shacks has been suspended (with the exception of a handful of Shacks where construction is near complete)," she said in an email Friday.

In local restaurant news, the Madison Bar and Grill at Fourteenth and Washington streets announced this week that it's open for pickup and delivery again after having been closed for a time.

The Elysian Cafe reopened on May 4 after a closure of a little less than two weeks.

And a new coffee shop, Mojo Coffee on Willow Avenue, plans to open on June 3.

Meanwhile, a eatery/coffee shop called The Hive will open in fall at the site of the old Truglio's meat shop, as reported on Patch last week.
