Stevens Pool Use For Hoboken Residents: Hours And Fees Revealed
Hoboken residents will be able to use the Stevens Institute's pool this summer, after a registration process involving several steps.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Starting Monday, Hoboken residents can use the pool at the Stevens Institute of Technology for a fee, as long as they've gotten a COVID booster shot. The City Council voted on a contract Wednesday.
Residents can use the pool and the tennis courts after a multi-step registration process.
"Hoboken residents will have access to the pool in Schaefer Athletic Center for a fee; summer hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Aug. 31," the city said in a message. "Access to the tennis courts and pool will be provided subject to proof of residency and vaccination confirmation."

The pool fee is $20 for one day, $35 for two weeks, or $55 for a monthly membership. Senior citizens get a discounted rate of $15 per day, $25 for two weeks, or $35 monthly.
Patch has reached out to see if there are family and child's rates.

Hoboken residents who would like to sign up to use the tennis courts and swimming pool must first register at http://www.hobokennj.gov/stevenstennis, and provide contact information, government identification or utility bill indicating a Hoboken address, and proof of full vaccination and at least one booster dose.
Stevens requires all on-campus students, as well as full-time and part-time employees, to be fully vaccinated and have at least one booster dose, the city said.
The form will then be processed by the city with an approval email from the city required before beginning the Stevens registration process.
Then, residents must register with Stevens at https://stevens.dserec.com/online/membership. An email will be sent when the Stevens ID is available to be picked up at Stevens Card Services.
After receiving the approval email, the ID card can be picked up at Stevens Card Services at the Howe Center, Room 120, Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. View a campus map here: https://www.stevens.edu/visit.
Other Pools
While various proposals for a Hoboken community pool have been "floated" over the years, it'll take a while for any of them to become a reality.
Right now, residents can also use the Olympic-size Pershing Park pool in Jersey City Heights, with its new retractable roof, for a small fee (find out more here). Also:
Union City has a nice variety of pools for Hudson County residents to use for free, from the Firemen's Memorial Park pool near the top of the Viaduct, to the baby pool at the music park near the Weehawken border.
(Weehawken has a new pool this year, but has only opened it to residents and isn't allowing guests.)
