1 Suspect Sought, 1 Arrested In Carjacking Attempt In Uptown Hoboken Last Week
Two people attempted a carjacking in uptown Hoboken last week, police said. One suspect was arrested and one is being sought.

HOBOKEN, NJ — After two suspects tried to carjack someone in uptown Hoboken last Thursday evening, a suspect has been arrested and another is at large, police said.
In response to a request from Patch, the police confirmed the incident in the early evening hours of Feb. 8.
The attempted carjacking took place on the 1000 block of Garden Street at approximately 6:30 p.m., police spokesperson Marci Rubin said.

"No one was injured and the attempt was unsuccessful," Rubin said.
She said that within 24 hours of the report, detectives identified two suspects, including a juvenile. The juvenile was charged with carjacking and conspiracy to commit carjacking.

A warrant has been issued for an adult, whose identity will be released upon arrest, Rubin said.

This is the third carjacking or carjacking attempt in Hoboken that has been made public so far this year. The city had already planned a CAPS (Community And Public Safety) Forum for Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Willie McBride's, 616 Grand St.
Residents will hear from representatives of the Hoboken Police Department, Hoboken Fire Department, Hoboken Office of Emergency Management, and the Hoboken EMS and Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
A question-and-answer session will be held, during which residents can askabout Public Safety related topics important to them.
