HOBOKEN, NJ — After a local Amazon worker was shot early Sunday morning when he stepped outside a warehouse on Hoboken's west side, the police have released surveillance videos (see below) to try to get more information.
The shooting occurred around 2:39 a.m. near the city's western border with the Palisade hills, outside an Amazon warehouse at Ninth and Monroe streets. The site is a block from the Ninth Street light rail station and elevator to Jersey City Heights.
Sunday afternoon, Lt. Danilo Cabrera said in a release, "When police officers responded, they located a male with gunshot wounds. Medical aid was provided and he was transported to JCMC for treatment. The male victim is listed as critical but stable at this time."

They added, "The suspect was seen pulling over in the area of Ninth Street between Madison and Monroe in a four door dark-colored sedan. The suspect exited the vehicle, approached the victim and shot the victim several times. The suspect then returned to the vehicle and exited northbound out of Hoboken."
On Sunday, Chief Ken Ferrante tweeted, "This incident appears to have no association w/multiple shootings that occurred in the Jersey City Heights, Union City & Hoboken this summer & based on the info I received while at the scene this morning & up to this minute, there's no threat to Hoboken residents at this time." (A Jersey City official said last week that there's been an ongoing conflict between some residents of Hoboken and Jersey City Heights. See a related story here.)
If anyone believes they may have information to assist with the identification of the suspect, they are asked to contact Detective Michael Miranda at 201-420-2118 or email him at mirandam@hobokenpd.org. All callers may remain anonymous. See video below.
