Boy, 14, Hit By Car In Hazlet Sunday, Remains Critical
He was riding his bike when he was struck by a car. He remains in critical condition as of Monday, Hazlet police said.

HAZLET, NJ — A 14-year-old boy remains in critical condition Labor Day Monday after he was hit by a car Sunday, Sept. 3 on Rt. 36 in Hazlet.
The crash occurred around 2:25 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Highway 36 and Seagate Avenue, Deputy Chief Ted Wittke said. A motor vehicle traveling eastbound on Rt. 36 struck the 14-year-old boy while he was riding his bicycle. The boy was taken by helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick and is in critical condition as of Monday morning, Deputy Chief Wittke said.
The driver was also treated for a broken nose and lacerations. No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation remains ongoing, Deputy Chief Wittke said. Hazlet police ask that anyone who may have witnessed it to contact Detective Ryan Mcandrews at 732-264-6565.
