What is Project Graduation? PG is an all-night party for our graduating seniors. It is alcohol and substance free. This year it is being held at the Atlantic Club, Manasquan, check-in begins at 9:45 the night of graduation and ends at approximately 4:30 a.m. the next morning.

Why do we have Project Graduation? Graduation night used to be a night of celebrating that would get out of control with drinking and substance abuse. For 25 years, our towns have provided graduating seniors a place to go, have fun, spend one last night with their classmates and be safe.

So how does the PG Committee pay for this? It costs approximately $20,000 to put on this event. We are 100% dependent on our fundraising activities (KidStuff Coupon Books, 50/50 Raffle, HS Hypnotist show, scrip (gift card) orders, lawn signs) and donations from families, the community and businesses.

Is my donation tax-deductible? HHS Project Graduation is a 501(c) 3 organization approved by the IRS. Donations are tax deductible, subject to IRS rules and regulations.

How many of the seniors go? We always hope to get 100% of them, but end up at about 90%.

What do they do there? They have entertainment all night long! The night of the event the students have access to the Atlantic Club including the racquetball courts, swimming pool, gym areas where there may be something like laser tag, a gaming room, a mechanical bull as well as stations for wire art, paint art, candy sushi and a travelling magician. The pool is also open for several hours, manned by lifeguards. There is food all night long, ranging from pizza, subs, chips all night long and breakfast in the morning.

Are there chaperones present? YES! We have about 20 adult volunteers full staff to chaperone the night. It’s an amazing way to see what PG is all about. The energy in the room will keep you awake!

How can I help? We need your financial help and your physical help! Please try to support our fundraisers and/or make a donation when you receive one of our appeals. We need non-senior parents to help chaperone the event. Please attend our monthly meeting so you will get specific information about what is going on when and how you can help.

If you have any questions, please contact Debbie Bergamotto at holmdelprojectgrad@gmail.com or at 732-895-7890. If you would like to make a donation, please make your check payable to Holmdel Project Graduation and mail it to our attention at 3 Hillcrest Court, Holmdel, NJ 07733.
