Edgewater Man, 60, Killed In Holmdel Go Kart Accident
The fatal accident happened Sunday evening in a private yard in Holmdel. The man was not wearing a helmet when he crashed into a tree.

HOLMDEL, NJ — An Edgewater man was tragically killed in a go kart accident in Holmdel on Sunday, Patch has learned.
The fatal accident happened Sunday evening in a private yard in Holmdel Township. The man has been identified as Boris Serebrenik, 60, of Edgewater, New Jersey.
Just after 8 p.m. Sunday, July 8, Holmdel police responded to a 911 call to a home on Grandview Drive for a reported go kart accident. When police got there, they found the man on the front lawn of the residence; he was not breathing and had a severe head injury. Two nurses were on location performing CPR on the victim.

Monoc paramedics and Holmdel First Aid Squad also responded and reportedly spent more than an hour trying to save the man. However, tragically, Serebrenik was pronounced dead at the scene at short time later.
According to Holmdel police, there was a birthday party at the home and guests were taking turns driving the go kart. Serebrenik lost control and crashed into a tree. The go kart was small and gas powered and did not have an restraint (seatbelt) system. Additionally, he was not wearing a helmet during the crash.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is aware of the fatality, but a spokesman said they are not investigating since his death does not appear to be suspicious.
