Middlesex County Has A New County Teacher Of The Year
State officials this week named 21 teachers as the County Teachers of the Year. One of them will be chosen as the State Teacher of the Year.

State officials this week announced the state’s 21 County Teachers of the Year.
The state Department of Education says through its program, it “honors some of the state’s most dynamic educators.”
“I’m pleased to congratulate all of our County Teachers of the Year for 2015-16,” state Education Commissioner David C. Hespe said in a prepared statement. “I consider this award a tribute to the talent, dedication, professionalism and success of these educators. They not only inspire the children they teach, they inspire us all.”

The teachers will be asked to serve on state committees and task forces. One of them will be selected next month as the State Teacher of the Year. That teacher will then move onto the national competition.
Janet El-Maraghy, a fourth-grade teacher at the Dr. H.N. Richardson 21st Century School in Perth Amboy is Middlesex County’s teacher of the year.
